To commemorate the 45th anniversary of Vietnam – Singapore diplomatic relations, from 26 to 29 November 2018, the Embassy of Vietnam in Singapore and the Vietnam – Singapore Friendship Association jointly held the Vietnam–Singapore art exhibition at The Arts House Singapore. The exhibition featured paintings by Vietnamese artist Pham Luan and Singaporean artist Jeffrey Wandly.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1973, the two countries have laid a solid foundation for friendship based on mutual trust, common interests and effective cooperation. Singapore and Vietnam have boosted cooperation in various fields and have been close partners in regional and multilateral forums, especially ASEAN.

In order to strengthen the political and economic ties between the two countries, both sides have made great efforts to organize meaningful activities, including the Vietnam-Singapore art exhibition, that help boost understanding between people of both nations through cultural and social exchanges.

Earlier in May 2018, Vietnamese artist Pham Luan and Singaporean artist Jeffrey Wandly showed a good connection in their exhibition entitled "Perspectives - celebrating the 45th anniversary of Singapore – Vietnam

diplomatic ties" held by the Embassy of Singapore in Hanoi.

The Vietnam-Singapore art exhibition featured the countries' landscapes through the unique views of the artists. The special thing of this exhibition was the art exchange in the works of the two artists. Pham Luan used Singapore's landmarks and landscapes as inspiration for his paintings. In return, Wandly's fondness for historical Vietnamese landmarks and people is evident in his works.

Coming to Vietnam in 1994 as a young architect, artist Jeffrey Wandly devoted special attention to heritages, music and paintings. He was immersed in cultures of the places where he had been. He expressed in his paintings not only liveliness but also respect towards Vietnamese cultural heritage space.
